Half Magic was the directorial debut for Heather Graham. The brief was to design a movie poster with an image of sexy lips blowing a candle and smoke from the candle with ‘x’s and ‘o’s.

In the depths of the pre-Civil War South, the blossoming romance between a slave and the son of her owner is threatened by the mystery of the mangled corpses of runaway slaves that are collecting in the woods. The genre is Southern Gothic Plantation Horror. The brief was to design a movie poster that was dark and engaging whilst relying heavily on the images of the trees and woods.

]]> Macbeth, UK https://ninajbain.co.uk/2003/11/14/macbeth-uk/ Fri, 14 Nov 2003 12:26:00 +0000 https://ninajbain.co.uk/?p=3238 Whilst at university, I designed a set for a traditional version of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, set in a castle and dungeon. The model was formed using white card and then additional materials were used, such as plaster and foam to build up the textures. It was finished off with painting and backlit in the university lighting studio.

White card modelling really became a passion of mine, and this is something I enjoy doing just for fun – the methods used are also a great way to create bespoke, intricate shelving for my collectables!
